A double-sided symbol, with a double meaning, and three-dimensionality.
This architectural firm specialises in social architecture. The aim was to create an identity that highlighted this social aspect and also had three-dimensionality to it.
We realised that the most social and connecting character in the alphabet is the ampersand, as its function is to connect two separate parts. And of course there already is an ampersand in the name Brunnberg & Forshed. So we gave this ampersand an architectural, three-dimensional, aspect by making it double-sided.
When the ampersand is reversed it creates a symbol, with the letters B and F. This symbol can be used both within the logotype, as an ampersand, or on its own as a symbol.
The double-sidedness of the symbol is used extensively throughout the application of the identity. For example the business cards are laser die cut with the symbol cut out, this way it reads differently on both sides.
In order to keep the identity consistent and to emphasize colours used in project colour schemes the logotype and font colours are limited to black, white and 50% grey.
